Gratitude

Be Grateful

Gratitude
A closed book has many pages
First the book needs to be opened and read one page at a time
The story unfolding as the pages are turned
Each page leading to the next page
Each chapter following the last chapter
The story builds and grows around the previous pages
Yet there are still pages to be read in the book
Pages to be turned, pages to be absorbed
One reads a book turning the pages one at a time
Absorbing the book, reflecting on the book
And the book continues to the final chapter to the end
But is that the end of the book or do you carry the book within
Remembering characters, reminiscing on scenes
Certain parts of a book are forever yet each page on its own is meaningless
So too is it with gratitude it starts as a closed book
Once the book is opened or the thanks given
The pages turned the thanks continues and there is a growing appreciation
Knowing that the appreciation will continue into future chapters
Spilling onto the next page just as the words are written
Each word building on the previous and serving as a foundation for the words to follow
So too is gratitude a foundation for more good things to follow
Each time thanks are given hey serve as a building block for more thanks
The more one shows appreciation, the more one acknowledges the gifts one receives
The greater will these gifts be
These need not be material gifts but gifts of one’s asking
Each person asking differently
These could be gifts of health, prosperity, success, recognition, achievement
Faith, courage, strength the list goes on and on
Each person asking for their own gifts receiving the gifts
Yet there needs to be appreciation for these gifts continue to grow
The more one thanks, the more one is grateful
The bigger the circle of gratitude grows
It is a self-perpetuating circle
By asking, one receives; by thanking, it grows
So one feels ready to ask again
Receiving again, thanking again
So the cycle continues
There is a correlation between asking, receiving, and thanking
They all work together hand in hand
If one of the elements is missing
The cycle of gratitude will come to a standstill
Yet it is very simple
Thanks, ask, receive
Thanks, ask, receive
Thanks
And the cycle goes on and on
